The 2010 Distribution Solutions Conference in Tampa

(June 16, 2010 - IFDA)—Development of the 2010 Distribution Solutions Conference, taking place October 25-27 at the Tampa Convention Center, kicked off in January when 23 industry executives came together for a planning meeting in Tampa, FL.  The annual conference includes education designed for foodservice and convenience distributors, and an operations and technology-focused exposition. Food manufacturer logistics professionals also participate.

(Please Note: Registration for the conference will open in just a few days.)

The planning group spent the first portion of the meeting brainstorming new ideas for the Tampa event. Recommendations included heightened educational focus on emerging trends and hot button issues that are shaping the industry. The committee also recommended strengthening opportunities for participants to network and build relationships.

The remainder of the planning meeting was spent identifying topics for the conference educational tracks, which include warehousing, human resources, technology, transportation, supply chain, and executive topics. Since that time, members of the committee have helped identify resources for the many conference sessions.
