Allmendinger to speak on communication skills

From his start as a dishwasher, Scott Allmendinger has risen to the top jobs at monkeydish.com and its print sisters, FoodService Director and Restaurant Business magazines, one of the largest and most successful media groups in foodservice. He’ll tap his 41 years in the restaurant business for an online presentation next week on the communication skills that brought him success whether he was speaking in a kitchen or a boardroom.

The webinar is part of the Women’s Foodservice Forum’s Success Talks series, where industry standouts draw on their personal experiences to provide a clearer roadmap to career achievement.

Allmendinger has a wide palette from which to draw. In addition to working for such diverse communications companies as CSP Information Group, VNU USA, and Mcfadden Communications, he has served as a chef and a foodservice instructor. He is one of only eight individuals in the country to be certified by the Culinary Institute of America in Menu Research & Development.

Allmendinger has promised to reveal the questions that good communicators use to ensure they’re connecting. He’ll also speak about the importance of "listening," to verbal and non-verbal input, and the importance of giving your brand a "voice”in all of its communications. He'll field questions from the live audience about particular communications issues.

The webinar is scheduled for March 29 at noon CST, 1 p.m. EST. More information is available here
