Arkansas House eyeing Religious Freedom law

The Arkansas House of Representatives could vote on a bill similar to Indiana's Religious Freedom Restoration Act as soon as Tuesday.

If the bill gets to the governor's office there, Republican Gov. Asa Hutchinson says he will sign it.

"I think it's critical to be able to believe what you think is right and hold your religious beliefs strong," said the Arkansas bill's primary sponsor, Republican State Sen. Bart Hester.

In Indiana, where a Religious Freedom Act was just signed into law, opponents fear it could let businesses discriminate against people who are gay.
