When it comes to attracting restaurant customers, restroom cleanliness may be as important as food, service and ambience. That finding was reported in a survey of over 1,000 adults by Clorox Professional Products Company.
- 39% of Americans have immediately left a restaurant or other business because the restroom smelled bad
- Three in four respondents were disgusted by urine stains and odors in public restrooms
- 66% said they would refuse to patronize business establishments, such as restaurants or hotels, with unclean restrooms
- More than half (55%) said they would likely review a business more negatively online or offline based on whether the restroom was clean
