Fight for 15, the union-supported campaign for a $15-an-hour minimum wage, is planning another demonstration by quick-service restaurant workers on tax day, April 15, to push for higher wages and the unionization of the industry.
The organization said Tuesday that crewmembers from the industry will be joined in the demonstration by college students from 170 universities worldwide. It also predicted that employees of Walmart and wage earners from the child-care, homecare and airport services industries will also swarm chain restaurants.
Fight for 15 is supported by the International Union of Food Workers and the Service Employees International Union.
