Cleaning Hands is Theme of September

{mosimage}This month-long annual campaign in September focuses on the importance of food safety education for the restaurant and foodservice industry and raises awareness of the industry's longtime commitment to food safety. This theme, "Keep Hands Clean with Good Hygiene," specifically promotes thorough hand-washing techniques, notes the NRAEF.

"The 'Keep Hands Clean with Good Hygiene' theme puts focus on the importance of hand-washing as it relates to food safety and sanitation. Food safety is always top of mind with foodservice operators, and hand-washing is an incredibly important aspect of food safety," said Mary M. Adolf, president and coo of the Foundation.

"Proper hand-washing is essential to ensure food is handled properly and in a safe manner. From proper hand washing to grooming to sanitizing, there are many things to keep in mind with regards to good hygiene, and NFSEM is a great time to reinforce all of these practices. By taking part in NFSEM, restaurant and foodservice professionals can spread the word about their commitment to serving safe food to their customers, as well as disseminate best practices throughout the industry."
