Research shows the 10 most craveable chain pizzas. Here are the pizzas from three chains that did not make the craveability cut, out of the 13 pizza chains that are tracked in Technomic’s ongoing gauge of customer perceptions, the researcher's Consumer Brand Metrics program.
Two-fifths or fewer of respondents say the pies offered at these three chains are crave-worthy and one-of-a-kind. They are ranked from third to first in descending order.
3. Godfather’s Pizza
Two-fifths of recent diners think Godfather’s Pizza pie is crave-worthy. Many consumers think the chain’s most craveable items are its desserts, such as Monkey Bread, in flavors like Italian, Cinnamon, Streusel and Caramel, and Dessert Streusel, instead of the pizza itself.
2. Papa John’s
Fewer than two-fifths of consumers think Papa John’s has craveable pizza that they can’t get anywhere else. Similar to Godfather’s Pizza, many recent customers cite Papa John’s desserts as craveable but not its pizza. Crave-worthy desserts called out include the Cinnamon Pull Aparts and Chocolate Chip Cookie. Customers also point to the chain’s chicken wings and poppers as craveable instead of the pizza.
A little over a third of all recent Domino’s customers said its pizza was drool-worthy, bumping this chain to the lowest spot in the craveable pizza chain rankings. A few recent diners gave the pizza chain excellent scores overall, but when asked which items on the menu are craveable, they couldn’t think of anything in particular.
