1. Cruz Blanca/Lena Brava
Rick Bayless’ long-awaited brewpub Cruz Blanca and its adjacent seafood concept, Lena Brava, are set to open on May 5, Eater reports. Booze will be the star of the show at Cruz Blanca, while food prep at its sister restaurant will center around a wood-fired grill, with not a gas hookup in the place, Bayless said via Facebook.
3. Gunter Seeger NY
Chef Guenter Seeger’s 38-seat eponymous spot—his first restaurant since closing Seeger’s in Atlanta in 2007—will reportedly master the feat of changing its multiple-course tasting menu daily. After experiencing some setbacks, the New York City concept is slated to open May 12.
The just-opened New York City outpost of chef Jose Garces’ tapas concept carries over a number of culinary touches from its original Philly location, with a few added twists, Eater reports. The restaurant is one of a handful of full-service spots located in Brookfield Place, a shopping and event center in the city’s financial district.
