DeLyser of California Avocado Named Chair of Produce Health Group



DeLyser, who was elected at the group's recent annual meeting, most recently served as PBH vice chair. The board of trustees recognized the service of outgoing 2005 Chairman of the Board David Parker, director of marketing for Fruit Patch Sales, Dinuba, CA. Parker remains on the executive committee as immediate past chair.

Mike O'Brien, vice president produce for Schnuck Markets, St. Louis, was elected vice chairman, and Mark Munger, of Andrew Williamson Sales Co., Watsonville, CA, was elected secretary/treasurer.

Ray Gilmer, director of public affairs for Florida Fruit & Vegetable Association, Orlando, FL, was elected chair of PBH's Consumer Marketing and Communications Committee. Gregg Storey, industry relations leader for Bayer CropScience, Research Triangle, NC, assumes chairmanship of the foundation's Development Committee.

In addition to officers and committee chairs, the following persons were elected to serve as at-large members of PBH's Executive Committee:

  • Sheila Cohn, nutrition coordinator with the National Restaurant Association, Washington DC
  • Mary DeGroat, director of public relations for California Strawberry Commission, Watsonville, CA
  • Terry Humfeld, vice president of member relations for Produce Marketing Association, Newark, DE
  • Steve Junqueiro, with Save Mart Supermarkets, Modesto, CA
  • Paul Klutes, director of brand sales, C. H. Robinson Worldwide, Groton, MA
  • Blair Richardson, president of California Tree Fruit Agreement, Reedley, CA
  • Tom Stenzel, president of United Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Association, Washington, DC
