Driebe, Owner of Pocono Produce, Dies at 88

STROUDSBURG, PA - Edward Kahlil Driebe, the former owner a Pocono Produce Co., inc., died in his home here on Saturday, Jan. 1. He was 88 years old.

Born on May 12, 1916 in Scranton, PA, Driebe was the son of the late Kahlil and Frieda (Sadi) Driebe. He and his wife of 65 years, Mary Pusateri Driebe, moved to Stroudsburg in 1940, where they operated the Park Market, which was purchased from his sister and his brother.

In 1943, Driebe opened Everything Electrical and sold the first television in Monroe County. Two years later, he purchased from his brother the Pocono Produce Co.
