"The small distributor should be convinced to view his organization, and the flow of product through that organization, as a mini-supply chain and apply the EFR principles, internally." |
Edit
Since the introduction of Efficient Foodservice Response (EFR), much has been discussed and written about the process and progress of wringing costs from the supply chain. The dialogue has covered the philosophy of relationships, the introduction of technology, and the necessity of making the whole process, from producer-grower to consumer, more efficient. This is a departure from the past emphasis on each independent distributor concentrating on the efficiencies of the various parts of their operation.
