The parent of Fatz Cafe has named former Joe’s Crab Shack president Jim Mazany to its chief executive post.

In his new role, Mazany—who has also held leadership positions at Applebee's and TGI Fridays—will be tasked with helping grow 45-unit Fatz Cafe, a casual-dining brand that operates in the Southeast.

Mazany was removed as president of Joe’s Crab Shack last year, a position he took over in 2012, after the casual chain suffered continuing sales and traffic declines despite dedicated revamp efforts.
