Applebee’s has launched a lineup of new items catering to fans of the classic meat and potatoes combination.
The chain’s new Topped Steaks & Twisted Potatoes meals give customers their choice of steak with one of three toppings—Savory Herb and Butter Sauce, Tavern Mushroom and Onion, or Creamy Horseradish and Gravy—and one of three potato-based side dishes—Twisted Tots, Loaded Potato Casserole Bake or Loaded Garlic Mashed Potatoes.
"At Applebee's we are always looking for ways to bring our guests the food they love and crave, and present it in a way they've never experienced," Stephen Bulgarelli, chief culinary officer for the chain, said in a statement. "The customization and flavor options of the Topped Steaks & Twisted Potatoes allow our guests to choose a dependable flavor, while enjoying it in a way that is completely new and unexpected at their local restaurant."
Applebee’s last year undertook a renewed focus on steak, particularly the hand-cut variety, that failed to deliver a shot in the arm to sales.
Its new Topped Steaks & Twisted Potatoes combos are available for a limited time at the starting price of $12.99.
