In 2002, Anthony Bruno brought the Old World art of coal-fired cooking to southern Florida with the launch of Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza. The menu boasts a range of Italian-inspired pizzas cooked in an 800-degree coal-fired oven—and feature toppings such as broccoli rabe and sausage—as well as “Italian soul food” offerings including meatballs with ricotta cheese. The quickly growing chain now has locations throughout Florida as well as Delaware, Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey.
