GFS Buys At Sherrill Hill, Tenn. Site

TENNESSEE (October 20, 2010)—A lot of dirt is being moved at Sherrill Hill, the commercial development just east of Seven Oaks Drive, on Kingston Pike, and a new company is looking to build at the site.

An entity with ties to Michigan-based Gordon Food Service recently paid $1.75 million for a property at the site. In an email, a spokesman for the company said they are developing construction plans for a GFS Marketplace store which, according to the company, aims "to service the fill-in emergency needs of restaurants that typically receive weekly deliveries from a foodservice distributor like Gordon Food Service."

The company says GFS Marketplace stores are the primary supplier to many restaurant owners, caterers, churches, and non-profit organizations, and that the stores are also open to the public, with no membership fee.
