Hawkeye to Acquire H&H Foodservice Assets

Under the agreement, Hawkeye will purchase certain unencumbered assets of H & H. Hawkeye will not assume any H & H liabilities or obligations, according to a report in the Iowa City Press Citizen. Hawkeye officials also will lease H & H's 80,000-square-foot facility in West Union until it is able to provide a smooth transition for H & H's customers from its current facilities in Iowa City and Fairmont, Minnesota. The company carries some 14,000 SKUs.

Hawkeye Foodservice previously expanded with the addition of a distribution facility in Danville, Illinois, and the purchase of the former Draper Foods in Fairmont, Minnesota, and the former Droege Foodservice in Washington, Missouri, according to a news release.

Number 34 on ID’s 2008 Top 50 list, Hawkeye recorded 2007 sales of $185.4 million. The company is a member of the UniPro Foodservice group, as well as DMA and SEFA. H & H Foodservice was a fellow UniPro member.
