Hopco Foodservice snaps up 91-year-old TW Wilson and Son

(January 7, 2010)—Hopco Foodservice Marketing continues to make deals, having acquired TW Wilson and Son of Tennessee and Alabama.

Hopco, headquartered in Tampa, said it has a definitive agreement but was not specific about the terms of the deal.

TWW&S is a 91-year-old company that markets 49 brands such as Kellogg’s, Campbell’s, Barber Foods, Jennie-O and Tampa Maid Foods.

The deal “brings together leading companies with complementary strategic visions and a shared commitment to growth and customer satisfaction,” a release said.

Hopco used very similar language in describing its acquisition last month of McCormick Beverage of Georgia and Café Inc. of the Carolinas.

Terms of that deal also were not disclosed.

Hopco was founded in 1982.
