Host's Foodservice Subsidiary Inks $16 Million Deals

HAMDEN, CT - Host America Corp.'s wholly-owned subsidiary, Lindley Food Service, was the successful bidder of a senior nutrition meal contract in Massachusetts valued at nearly $12.5 million over the next five years, according to the locally-based corporation.

It will be producing both congregate and home delivered meals for approximately 3,500 seniors daily. Lindley has also signed a $3.6 million, four-year contract to produce senior nutrition meals for LifeStream Services of Yorktown, IN.

"We believe that the revenue and earnings generated by our foodservice business will continue to provide us with the capital growth to pursue emerging energy conservation opportunities," said Geoffrey Ramsey, ceo of Host America.

"This will be a Massachusetts premier program enabling Lindley to provide exciting variety in our menus and the very best in quality and service to our clientele," said Gil Rossomando, president of Lindley

The company's contract to produce meals of LifeStream Services will be produced at Lindley's Central Kitchen located in Muncie, IN, and will feature mid-western cuisine for its senior participants.

In other news, the company has successfully expanded its shelf stable meal/snack trays, line of products assembled in its New Haven facility. The first order of 220,000 packaged meals will be assembled and shipped, 10,000 meals per delivery, over the next six months. The New Haven production facility is capable of producing 50,000 meals per day.
