ID NEWS: Ahold says no set deadline on USF investigation

Royal Ahold, Zaandam, The Netherlands, has said it is focusing on "accuracy rather than speed" in its internal investigation of promo accounting irregularities at its U.S. Foodservice USF) subsidiary, according to a Reuters report.

There is no set deadline, says the Ahold spokesperson quoted. The international grocer and distribution company has not disclosed what auditor is working on the investigation.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and U.S. Attorney's office are conducting separate investigations of the Columbia, MD-based broadliner.
