ID News--Oneida's Bob George dies

Robert L. George, instrumental in the development of the Oneida Ltd. Foodservice Division, has died.

George was senior vice president of Oneida Foodservice at the time of his retirement in 1987, after more than 31 years of service, all within the foodservice division. "For many years, Bob George's name was virtually synonymous with the Oneida Foodservice Division," comments Peter J. Kallet, Oneida chairman and ceo, who in 1987 succeeded George as vice president of the division.

In addition to his role at Oneida, where he started as a sales rep in 1956, George served as president, vice president and treasurer of the National Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers, was on the advisory committee for the International Hotel & Motel Exposition, and was a founding member, president and board member of the Permanent Ware Institute.
