ID NEWS: Sara Lee says unauthorized reps signed off on USF confirmation letters

Sara Lee Corp., Chicago, says that three of its salespeople have been suspended for confirming inaccurate information to auditors for monies owned to U.S. Foodservice (USF), Columbia, MD, according to Reuters.

The major manufacturer, which affirmed it had been contacted by U.S. regulators investigating USF promo bookings, said the sales reps were not authorized to make the confirmations, which could be used improperly by certain USF employees as a way to inflate earnings.
