ID News--USF wins additional $800 million per year with Compass

U.S. Foodservice (USF), Columbia, MD, the second largest broadliner in the United States, has been awarded a five-year contract amounting to $800 million-a-year in volume by Foodbuy, LLC, to service Compass Group North America. Foodbuy is Compass' procurement and data management partner.

USF has been a supplier to Compass Group for more than 12 years. When this contract is fully implemented, the broadliner will be the major contractor's primary distributor and will have increased its Compass business by nearly 50 percent.

"We are extremely pleased to be chosen by Compass to be their primary U.S. supplier," says Jim Miller, USF president and ceo. "We were up against some tough competition, but the excellent work of our staff and our extensive national distribution capabilities proved to Compass Group and Foodbuy that we have the quality personnel and the nationwide capabilities to handle their every need."

The new contract calls for USF to serve Compass in 15 additional markets, including all of Compass's business West of the Mississippi.
