IFDA to Host Reportable Food Registry Info Webinar

WASHINGTON, DC (Aug. 19) The International Foodservice Distributors Association (IFDA) has announced it will host a Webinar to help foodservice distributors understand the requirements of the FDA Reportable Food Registry. The Webinar, led by outside counsel David Durkin from Olsson, Frank and Weeda, will take place Monday, Aug. 31, at 3 p.m. EST.

The Reportable Food Registry will become operational on Sept. 8, 2009, adding a significant new regulatory requirement for foodservice distributors, according to IFDA. Food companies will be required to submit a report to the registry within 24 hours if it is determined that any food they have manufactured, processed or held is a reportable food.

The webinar will walk through the new requirements to help distributors understand when food must be reported as well as answer questions. Price for participating in the Webinar is $35 and registration can be completed online at www.ifdaonline.org .
