Rob Polacek, of hospitality design firm Puccini Group, saw that customers needed more juice—the electrical kind—for their portable gadgets. So he came up with a convenient and stylish solution—installing power strips under bar counters and including electric ports at communal tables. His first installation is at the new Washington, D.C., restaurant Trademark. “One of our design standards now is to provide a means for powering up while you’re recharging your body,” says Polacek.
