Wow, a week of bad ideas, people. Leading with a perv in Virginia. Leading to a numb-skull brunch promotion. And finishing with some unsanitary conditions at McDonald’s. A nation turns its lonely eyes to next week.
Idea #1: Fake Twin Peaks. When a Craigslist help wanted ad announced that a new Twin Peaks was opening in Richmond, Virginia, and needed waitresses, it didn’t seem odd that a photo was required with application. The restaurant is, after all, known for its Hooters-esque skimpy waitress uniforms. Only problem was, Twin Peaks wasn’t opening a restaurant in Richmond. It was a fake ad trying to collect pictures of scantily clad women. Only slightly more exploitative than the restaurant itself.
Idea #2: MLK Day Brunch. There’s just no way to make this idea work: leverage the birthday of an assassinated civil rights hero to sell brunch. But hey, it’s an idea.
Idea #3: Don’t let mice in your pantry (or at least keep employees from filming them). A Phillidelphia-area McDonald’s got a mouse in a bag of Big Mac buns. And an employee filmed it. And put it online.
