Katz Named Executive Vice President at Sysco-Dallas



Katz will assume his new position on Jan. 1, 2007.

Katz, 42, joined Sysco as corporate counsel in 1999 with primary responsibility for mergers, acquisitions and real estate, and in 2004 he was named assistant vice president, legal. When Sysco unveiled its long-term strategic development process in 2005, Katz was promoted to his current position as group president, new growth.

Prior to joining Sysco he practiced law for five years at the private law firms of McGlinchey, Stafford, LLC and Hirsch & Westheimer, P.C.

Katz was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. He is a graduate of the State University of New York at Binghamton, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology in 1984. Katz was awarded his juris doctor in 1994 from the Texas Wesleyan University School of Law, located in Fort Worth, Texas. He and his wife, Maryanne, have two sons and a daughter and will relocate to the Dallas area in the near future.
