McDonald’s makes another high-level exec appointment

McDonald's Corp named Karen King to the new role of chief field officer, part of a management reshuffling aimed at simplifying operations and strengthening its frayed ties with franchisees.

Ms. King, who currently serves as chief people officer, will oversee four US zones that include 14,000 restaurants, as well as franchise relations, the company said in a statement Friday. McDonald's plans to announce a replacement for chief people officer, a human-resources role, in the coming weeks.
