Cool Restaurant Menu: Virtual Mixology Menu

iPad menus and wine lists are nothing new but Celebrity Cruises takes its cocktail menu to another level. Guests tap their drink choice on the screen and they can watch as the components of a classic Side Car or Blue Moon martini are measured into a shaker and mixed before their eyes. The iPads turn the ordering process into a fun and educational experience.

The interactive cocktail menu is in step with the cruise line’s effort to enliven its onboard beverage program. In July, renowned mixologist Josh Durr joined the team, developing 30 new exclusive craft cocktails, such as the Gin Complex—a blend of gin, pineapple juice, Chartreuse, simple syrup and lime juice—which he refers to as “a takeoff on a tiki drink.” The handcrafted cocktails complement Celebrity’s long-established Molecular and Martini Bars.
