Buffalo Wild Wings may try to-go beer

As a greater proportion of Buffalo Wild Wings guests get meals to go, the chain is looking into ways to sell beer as a part of takeout orders—with plans to test that endeavor as early as this fall, Crain’s Chicago Business reports.

"The question we're trying to answer is: Is there a way we can sell to-go beer to our guests in a way that provides value to them and us, so that they don't pick up food from us and make an extra stop to pick up beer somewhere else on their way home?" Patrick Kirk, Buffalo Wild Wings’ director of beverage innovation, told Crain’s.

While the chain works through several questions concerning container size and pricing, it’s considering other obstacles such as varying municipal laws regarding alcohol sales, Crain’s notes.

This effort is Buffalo Wild Wings’ latest targeting takeout customers, as the chain recently debuted a large-volume wings deal aimed at Ultimate Fighting Championship fans hosting watch parties at their homes.
