Shoot the Moon, a Chili’s and On the Border franchisee in the Upper Northwest, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
In addition to 11 Chili’s units and three On the Border branches, Great Falls, Mont.- based Shoot the Moon reportedly operated a homegrown concept called Moonshine Grill. The restaurants were all located in the states of Washington, Idaho and Montana, according to the company’s website.
Court filings show the company had liabilities outstanding of about $25 million and assets valued at approximately $23 million.
Lance Hatzenbeller is listed on Shoot the Moon’s website as president. He ran the company with two other members of the Hatzenbeller family, Ken and Mitch.
