In the latest bending of a signature service style, the Texas de Brazil churrascaria chain is revamping lunch service at its New York City store to include rice bowls, salads and sandwiches.
The spotlight is still on roasted meats, but ones served as part of a composed lunch item delivered to the table. Like most churrascaria concepts, Texas de Brazil features meats freshly carved tableside off huge rotisserie skewers.
Under the New York set-up, customers specify what meat they want for their bowl or sandwich. A meat-free salad is also available.
The items are priced a la carte, another departure for the concept, which charges a fixed price for dinner.
The 29-unit chain did say if other stores are considering the New York menu.
Earlier this week, the Luby’s cafegeria chain revealed plans to add table service on weekend mornings, and to open a second full-service version of its Fuddruckers fast-casual burger chain.
