Olive Garden considering chainwide delivery

Olive Garden may implement chainwide delivery using a major third-party courier service such as Uber or Postmates, the Orlando Business Journal reports.

While about 50 percent of Olive Garden locations currently work with a local delivery service, the chain is looking to sign a single delivery deal that would cover 70 to 80 percent of its restaurants, Gene Lee, CEO of parent company Darden Restaurants, said on a second-quarter earnings call, according to the Business Journal.

Olive Garden’s same-store sales increased 1 percent during the most recent quarter, Darden Restaurants said Friday.
