Papa John’s promotes Steve Ritchie to president

Papa John’s International has promoted COO Steve Ritchie to president, the pizza-delivery company announced Thursday.

Ritchie will continue his duties as COO, a position he has held since 2014, when he was promoted from senior vice president of global operations. In his new capacity, he will continue to report directly to Papa John’s CEO John Schnatter.

Schnatter had previously held the title of president since May 2014, when then-president and COO Tony Thompson parted ways with Papa John’s to serve as CEO and president of Krispy Kreme.

“We are fortunate to have a proven leader in Steve to assume the additional role of president of the company,” Schnatter said in a statement. “He shares my passion for quality and is an outstanding operator and leader for our company and entire system.”
