The Pinkberry frozen-yogurt chain has been acquired by Kahala Brands, the multi-concept franchisor whose portfolio currently includes Cold Stone Creamery and Blimpie.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Pinkberry, once one of the industry’s fastest-growing chains, has expanded to 260 units in 20 countries since its launch in 2005. The franchisor’s home office, currently in Santa Monica, Calif., will be relocated to Kahala’s headquarters in Scottsdale, Ariz.

“It's an excellent strategic fit for our company and presents an exciting opportunity for future development," Kahala CEO Michael Serruya said in a statement announcing the deal.

Kahala’s other brands include TacoTime, Samurai Sam’s, Maui Wowi and Planet Smoothie.
