Schlotzsky’s Monday announced the appointment of Monte Jump to vice president of global marketing.

In his new role, Jump—who most recently served as chief marketing officer and chief operating officer at the Back Yard Burgers chain—will be tasked with growing the global presence of the Atlanta, Georgia-based sandwich chain, which currently operates units in Azerbaijan, Turkey and Russia.

Prior to his post at Back Yard Burgers, Jump served as executive vice president and CMO at the Captain D’s fast-casual seafood chain, in addition to holding marketing roles at Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Golden Corral and TGI Fridays.

“Monte is a passionate and disciplined marketer whose broad consumer packaged goods and restaurant experience, along with his innovative and results-driven marketing approach, make him an ideal candidate for this position,” said Paul Macaluso, senior vice president of marketing for Schlotzsky’s parent company, FOCUS Brands Restaurant Group. “We will look to his vast marketing experience to help grow sales and develop Schlotzsky’s into a global, multi-channel foodservice brand.”
