Slim Chickens has appointed former Noodles & Company executive Mark Mears its new chief marketing officer.

As CMO, Mears will assist the 40-plus-unit better-chicken brand with spurring sales growth and achieving its goal of reaching 600 locations within the next decade, according to a news release.

Mears—who was named CMO of Noodles & Company in 2015—has also served in the C-suite at Schlotzsky’s, The Cheesecake Factory and Mimi’s Cafe. His departure from Noodles follows a recent trend of executives parting ways with major chains to catalyze growth at smaller ones.
