Nicholas & Company Awarded 2012 Best of State

SALT LAKE CITY (May 30, 2012)—Nicholas and Company Inc., the #17 ranked distributor in the ID Top 50, has won the 2012 Best of State Award for the Food Service & Distributors in Business Services category in Utah.

“We are honored to receive the Best of State award for the sixth time in this category.  We value our partnership with our community and customers,” said Peter Mouskondis, Nicholas & Company’s President and CEO. “We are passionate about providing quality service and products to our customers, helping them to be successful in their accomplishments. We are determined to continue providing exceptional service and products for years to come.”

Utah's Best of State Award recognizes individuals, businesses and other organizations that have measured up to the Best of State Motto, “Excelling and Surpassing All Else.” A panel of expert judges from across the state select winners by scoring nominees out of a total 100 possible points. Fifty percent of the score is based on overall quality of the company's offering or program, 30 percent is based on innovation and 20 percent for the company's contribution to the quality of life in Utah.

From Nicholas & Company’s founding in 1939 to their current third-generation leadership, the company has been honored with numerous awards including the Utah Department of Workforce Services Work/Life Award for ten consecutive years and recognized as the Best Company to Work for in 2005 and 2011 from Utah Business Magazine. Nicholas & Company previously won Best of State Statue and awards in 2003, 2006, 2009, 2010 and 2011.
