Olive Garden to add tabletop kiosks

Olive Garden is following the lead of such competitors as Chili’s and Red Robin by adding tabletop mini-kiosks that enable guests to pay at the table and order drinks, appetizers and desserts.

The rollout, which the chain expects to finish by January, follows a test of the Ziosk system in select units since 2014. In the test stores, table turns, guest-satisfaction scores and tips were higher than the chainwide norm, according to Ziosk.

The 7-inch touchscreens run on the Android operating system.
