Piazza Named Exec V-P of Sysco-Atlanta

HOUSTON - Joseph P. Piazza has been named executive vice president of Sysco Food Services of Atlanta, LLC, located in College Park, GA, the Sysco Corp. headquarters here announced.

Piazza, who currently serves as senior vice president of sales at Sysco Food Services of South Florida, located in Medley (Miami), FL, will assume his new responsibilities effective Oct. 4.

Piazza, 49, began his Sysco career in 1990 as Italian market segment manager at the south Florida operation. He was promoted to director of specialty markets in 1992, then general manager of specialty markets in 1994 and the following year he was named vice president of specialty markets. Piazza progressed to vice president of sales in 1997 and was promoted to his current position in 2000.

Piazza is a native of Carteret, NJ, and a graduate of Upsala College, East Orange, NJ, where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in business administration in 1977. He and his wife, Cynthia, have two sons and a daughter and will relocate to the Atlanta area in the near future.
