Rachman Named to Food Science Post at FPA



In this new position, Rachman will focus on scientific, regulatory and public policy developments associated with chemical issues and food safety.

"Nancy will be a real asset to our members seeking advice and assistance on issues related to chemicals and safety evaluations," said Dr. Craig Henry, FPA's senior vice president of scientific and regulatory affairs and chief science officer. "She will play an important role in the continued support FPA provides to its member companies on scientific and regulatory issues."

Rachman brings more than 20 years of food and chemical industry experience to FPA. Prior to joining FPA's staff, Dr. Rachman was senior managing scientist in the food and chemicals practice of Exponent, Inc., a scientific consulting company. Previously, she served as executive director of the Risk Science Institute of the International Life Sciences Institute (ILSI). She also has held senior management positions with the American Cyanamid Co. and Dole Food Co.

Rachman has made numerous presentations to various scientific and technical organizations, and has published articles in peer-reviewed journals. She holds a Ph.D. in biology from Princeton University and an M.S. degree in zoology from Rutgers University.
