RDP Foodservice Adds New Director of Merchandising

COLUMBUS, OH (Oct. 8, 2009)—RDP Foodservice has hired Robert Gerlach, formerly senior vice president at Sysco's SYGMA chain distribution division, as its new director of merchandising. Gerlach brings to the RDP team more than 25 years of foodservice purchasing, sales and management experience, 20 years of which was spent at SYGMA. After leaving SYGMA in 2008, Gerlach joined R.S. Hanline & Company Inc., where he was responsible for sales of fresh and processed produce to national restaurant chains and foodservice distributors.

At RDP, Gerlach is charged with directing the company's growing distribution network. "We are extremely fortunate to be able to bring someone on board with Bob's credentials," said Mark Mizer, president of RDP Foodservice.  "His vast experience in the foodservice arena makes our team even stronger as we continue our company's steady growth."

RDP Foodservice services customers throughout Ohio and neighboring states. A long-time Italian and pizza specialist, the company has recently broadened its reach into the casual dining segment, as well.
