Many non-pizza restaurants are building individual pies on a base of flatbread instead of the traditional pizza dough. Here, chef Giletto starts with Indian naan and tops it with green garlic, sauce and cheese for a speedy pizza with authentic flavor.
1 piece fresh naan bread
2 tbsp. olive oil
2 tbsp. green garlic, thinly sliced
Salt and ground pepper, to taste
2 oz. prepared pasta sauce
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 tsp. grated Parmesan cheese
- Preheat oven to 350°F. for 15 min. Place naan on baking sheet .
- In sauté pan over low heat, combine olive oil and green garlic. Saute until slightly golden and aromatic; remove. Drain garlic and pat dry. Season with salt and pepper.
- Spoon pasta sauce on naan; top with mozzarella cheese and green garlic. Bake pizza 5 min. or until cheese is completely melted. Sprinkle with Parmesan and serve.
