Granita is a semi-frozen dessert of sugar, water, and flavorings. Related to sorbet and Italian ice, it has a coarser, more crystalline texture and can be made with any type of fruit juice or coffee.
1⁄3 cup sugar to taste
1⁄2 cup pomegranate arils for garnish

- Combine pomegranate juice with sugar in large bowl. Stir until sugar dissolves.
- Follow directions for automatic ice cream freezer or put in a large mixing bowl in freezer. Stir every 30 min. until frozen and fluffy.
