Restaurant chain James Coney Island victim of TV thefts

A 92-year-old local restaurant chain wants justice it says thieves stole television sets from several of its locations in the past year.

James Coney Island, also known as JCI Grill, says at least 10 flat-screen sets have been stolen at about half-a-dozen of its locations. The latest incident happened early Wednesday, when security cameras caught a man inside the JCI Grill on Hollister.

JCI said the smash and grab burglaries have cost the chain more than $25,000 in the past 12 months. The chain has also spent money upgrading its security measures, but the burglaries continue.
