Shamrock Turns to e-Subscriptions as Its Own SmartSolution

One way the nation’s eight-largest broadliner is doing so is eliminating the mailing of its popular bi-monthly in-house magazine, SmartSolutions, in favor of delivery by DSRs and inviting customers to sign up to receive the publication electronically.

In a message to customers on its Web site, Shamrock notes that the e-subscription offer starts with its March/April issue, and that the company’s sales representatives will now deliver the print magazine to customers upon request.

“It feels like the right thing to do, since so much of what makes Shamrock Foods the leader in our markets is the personal relationship we have with you, our customer,” the message says. “Starting in March the magazine literally goes from our hands to yours. It’s packed with the same great food articles, business tips, ideas, recipes and operator stories that you’ve told us you like.”

While SmartSoultions has always been available for customers to read and download on its Web site, Shamrock’s new postage-saving program will automatically send each issue out in electronic form to those who subscribe.
