Shamrock beat out five other bidders to win the contract. The new contract is worth a maximum of $31.5 million, and is expected to be completed by Jan. 18, 2008.
Shamrock maintains a 15-acre distribution center in Colorado including a 270,000-sq.-ft. warehouse in Commerce City that supplies the Rocky Mountain region. That territory includes Colorado, Wyoming, western Kansas, western Nebraska and northern New Mexico.
The Commerce City center handles an inventory of more than 16,000 items, ranging from fresh produce and seafood to dry groceries and dairy products.
