Incorporate an historic building's quirks into a contemporary restaurant design

Renovation projects are tricky enough. When the building in question is the recipient of a full, historic facelift that also needs to accommodate modern technologies, codes and conveniences…even more so. We worked with chef Donald Link to transform the ground floor of an 1840s New Orleans building into his new restaurant, Peche Seafood Grill. Chef Link was ready to embrace and even incorporate the building’s existing character and quirks into his contemporary restaurant’s aesthetic. The team at Trapolin Peer Architects gave Chef Link the look he wanted, while retaining many of the architecturally-relevant features in the finished product.  With all of this going on, we, the contractor, were able to work with the building instead of against it.
