Silbaugh, who currently serves as executive vice president at Sysco Intermountain Food Services Inc., a subsidiary located in Salt Lake City, Utah, assumed his new responsibilities today.
Silbaugh, 40, began his Sysco career in 1987 as a marketing associate for the company's Denver operation, progressing to district manager in 1991. In 1995 he transferred to Sysco's Virginia operating company as general sales manager and was named vice president of sales in 1997. He returned to the Denver operation in 1998 as vice president of sales, was promoted to senior vice president in 2001, and in 2002 he assumed his current duties.
Silbaugh was born in Milwaukee, and raised in Austin, MN. In 1987 he earned a bachelor of science degree in business with a marketing major from St. Cloud State University, St. Cloud, MN. He and his wife, Tracy, have a son and a daughter and will relocate to the Harrisonburg area in the near future.
