Sledd Replaces Gray as CEO of PFG

RICHMOND, VA - Robert C. Sledd, chairman of Performance Food Group here, has replaced C. Michael Gray, as chief executive officer of the third largest foodservice distributorship in America, according to the company.

Gray, who resigned Friday, March 5, observed: "Performance Food Group has been an integral part of my life for 29 and a half years, and I am going to miss working with our wonderful associates and our management team. I am confident that the company will continue to succeed under Bob's leadership."

Thanking Gray for his "outstanding service," Sledd also noted that Gray "has been instrumental in overseeing the growth of our business. Under his leadership, the company grew to more than $5.5 billion in sales last year. I will miss working with Michael and we all wish him the best."

Turning to the company's management team, Sledd said PFG has a "strong group of dedicated associates and leadership team. I am confident that our strategic direction is sound and that 2004 will result in another year of solid performance."
