Southern Foods Appoints Randall Newton as Sales Director

GOLDSBORO (January 18, 2012)—Foodservice distributor Pate Dawson Company announced the appointment of Randall Newton as Director of Sales of its Greensboro-based subsidiary Meat and Seafood Solutions, dba Southern Foods.

As a member of Southern Foods’ senior staff, Newton will be responsible for business development as the company continues to grow following its acquisition in 2010 by Pate Dawson, according to Southern Foods President Bill Mutton.

For more than two decades Newton has been involved in food industry sales as Premium Beef and Pork Specialist at Cargill Meat Solutions, as vice president and director of Foodservice Sales at Creekstone Farms and as director of sales with the Nosan Group, dba Prime Meats. Newton began his career with Southern Foods in the 1980s.

“The appointment of Randy to this sales and business development leadership position completes our management team and complements our existing strengths,“ said Mutton. “He brings a wealth of expertise and proven sales success back to Southern Foods as we lead our drive to become the very best customer option."

Newton has completed comprehensive industry-related training at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY and holds the designation of CIA-Certified Culinary Sales Professional.
